Our  team negotiates deals with digital music services such as YouTube, Facebook, TikTok and many other services who rely on & benefit from music in their services; innovatively address the data challenges involved in analysing epic volumes of global usage data to match written songs to recordings and calculate royalties based on terms from licensing deals and consolidate complex song ownership data from multiple sources to provide the industry’s most authoritative rights picture, underpinning accurate songwriter payments from a wide range of sources, this work has seen us distribute more than €1bn in digital royalties to our customers since 2016.

You are responsible for:

ICE is looking for enthusiastic, eager to learn developer to work with our Copyright Software Engineering team in Berlin and in Poland supporting and developing our existing platforms using advanced IBM solutions (IBMi, DB2, RPG) as well as SQL, CL, REST and XML Web Services, but not limited to, as we are also developing and supporting applications in Java, Scala, Kafka, PLSQL, PHP, or AWS (cloud solutions) and more. You will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic development team supporting you with knowledge transfers.  You should be an experienced programmer with a good understanding of SQL and relational databases.  You are eager to learn (or already know) the IBMi platform and RPG programming language.  
  • Develop understanding of business processes, objectives, and solution requirements. Participate in project work groups with subject matter experts to understand specific needs.
  • Develop understanding of application processes and performance requirements with focus on the IBMi platform including RPG (free format) and advanced SQL programming.
  • Work with business analyst / lead developer / solution architect on solution design and contribute to effort estimation.
  • Be focused on our products’ backend to maintain & implement new features and enhance the existing ones.
  • Collaborate with different stakeholders on issues of design, development and testing.
  • Support production application - investigate and resolve production inquiries and issues.
  • Use your development skills to improve efficiency, scalability, stability, and maintainability of the systems and their subsystems.
  • Constantly improve on best practices when it comes to technical standards.
  • Work with the Development Team, Infrastructure Team, QA, Product Owners and Account Managers following our development procedures and documentation and using ITIL solutions (ServiceNow).

Minimum Requirements:

  • You have at least 2 years of development experience and are proficient in any programming language with the ability to produce good quality well documented code while following standards.
  • You have a good understanding of relational databases and SQL.
  • You have a sound understanding of software development processes and the software development life cycle.
  • You can quickly learn and work with new programming languages.
  • You are motivated and willing to analyse complex problems and generate solutions.
  • You are motivated, team-spirited, and open-minded.
  • You like developing yourself by learning new things and taking on challenges.
  • You see knowledge sharing and colleague support as a natural part of a workplace.
  • You are comfortable working in a team or independently. 
  • You have a BS (or Masters) degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
  • You are proficient in English in both written and verbal communication.

Your Nice-To-Haves:
  • Any experience with IBMi/AS400 and RPG/CL programming
  • Experience supporting complex large-scale applications
  • Experience in working with REST or XML Web Services, PHP (MariaDB), Oracle PLSQL, Java, Scala, Kafka, or AWS
  • Experience with Git/GitHub
  • Any experience using Rocket Aldon Lifecycle Manager for
