As part of ICE, you will be working with some of the most knowledgeable and dedicated experts in the industry. We collaborate closely with our customers to continuously develop our products and services to ensure the best results.

You are responsible for:

ICE is looking for an enthusiastic, lead developer for a team of expert developers in Berlin.
The future of the ICE application is cloud based on AWS while we continue to support and develop existing platforms on IBMi
We see a lot of development on IBMi for at least the next years and a transition of the workload to AWS that already started and promised a lot more in the coming years.
You will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic development team. We are developing and supporting applications in RPG, Java and AWS, using the latest technologies and methodologies.
You should be an experienced RPG developer but also enthusiastic to learn other programming languages and technologies.  You will have the opportunity to learn the full AWS development suite, e.g. elastic search, Jbpm.
Some travel may be required during the first months for training.
Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Be a facilitator between Product, Business, Designers, Testers, ITOps, and Developers.
  • Be responsible for the product, ensuring that its development follows best practices and high standards while reaching its expectations.
  • Support and lead the development team, driving them towards:
    • Usage of best practices.
    • Structured, high quality code and process documentation.
    • A bug-free product.
  • Contribute to system design as well as effort estimation and planning.
  • Improve efficiency, scalability, stability and maintainability of the systems and their subsystems.

Minimum Requirements:

From a behavior perspective, we are expecting someone:

From a technical perspective, we expect someone:
  • Working in a related field for at least 3-5 years, you have acquired extensive experience in building and supporting large-scale applications.
  • Who is an expert on IBMi, from the development perspective. We don’t expect that you know how to do a system IPL, but we expected that you know and understand how a *DTAQ, a *JRN, a *JOBD, and a library list can affect your code.
  • You understand how databases work, what is an access path, and how we can optimize it.
  • You have extensive knowledge of Big Data databases e.g. Mongo, Dynamo, Oracle.
  • You are familiar to, or are willing to learn, cloud-computing skills – we use AWS as a cloud provider.
You should have:
  • BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong RPG and IBMi knowledge.
  • Experience working in different developing methodologies.
  • Working in English in both written and verbal communication is no problem for you.
