To support our team in Berlin, we are looking for a Data Engineer (m/f/d). 

 

You are responsible for:

ICE is combining various data sources of the company to form a customer centric DWH which can serve cross-departments for handling Big Data. As a data engineer you are the hub for our entire data landscape. You are able to develop, create, test and maintain architectures to get the best out of our product together with the IT, Product and Business teams. You will always work data-driven and analytically. The team is based in Berlin.

Key responsibilities:
  • Design and implement large-scale data solutions using Big Data and Cloud technologies
  • Design and develop conceptual data models for integrating, exploring and retrieving data from heterogeneous data sources and IT systems
  • Implement and manage ETL processes, data transformations, data flows and service APIs
  • Work with data virtualisation, integration, and analytics technologies on our data platform
  • Implement optimised data representations (views) and aggregations from multiple data sources
  • Define and implement data ingestion, retention, lineage and access policies
  • Define and implement data service API management and usage policies
  • Define and implement data and data service catalogue functionalities
  • Work in interdisciplinary, cross-functional teams according to agile methodology
  • Closely collaborate with business, digitalisation and IT functions 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Successfully completed studies in Computer Science or related fields
  • 3+ years in data engineering
  • Proficient understanding of distributed and Cloud computing principles and technologies
  • Experience with integration of data from multiple data sources and IT systems
  • Relevant knowledge in working with Cloud environments and services, preferably with Microsoft Azure, e.g. Azure Data Factory
  • Programming skills in Java and/or Python; Software development experience is a plus
  • Experience in data modelling (ER, UML) and proficiency in SQL
  • Experience with relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle Postgres as well as experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB
  • Experience with Hadoop Ecosystem (Spark) Containers (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus
  • Hands-on experience with Big Data Frameworks (including Apache, Kafka, Spark, RDBMS, etc.)
  • Fluent in English spoken and written, German is beneficial
